She looked up but couldn’t see the peak.
A drop of water trickled down her cheek–it had started pouring–a sign of a storm brewing. Securing her backpack, she ignored the downpour and continued her ascent of the world’s largest peak.
It took her two hours to get to the top. She heard the music of the mountain, felt the cold air on her face and knew she had made it.
Sitting atop in triumph, she looked back on the day, five years ago, when she had lost both her eyes in an accident. She smiled.
