The sight of the crystal-clear water cascading down the rocks, surrounded by greenery, was simply stunning. I knew right away that we had to go there.

The waterfalls is surrounded by dense forests and is a popular trekking destination for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts.

Without wasting any time, we made plans to visit the Devkund Falls. Devkund Waterfalls

An unforgettable experience in the Western Ghats of India is the Devkund Waterfall, tucked away in the forests of Maharashtra. It is locally known to be the origin of the Kundalika River and offers a scenic escape from the hustle of city life.

The 4km long trek to Devkund is a moderately challenging one and is suitable for both beginners and experienced trekkers. However, it  can be a bit demanding, especially during the monsoon season. The effort is well worth it though—as you make your way through the dense jungle, crossing small streams, the sound of the waterfall becomes louder, making it a surreal experience.

Later, as you approach your destination and finally catch sight of the falls, it’s picture perfect and quite unforgettable. The water, flowing from a height of about 80 feet, crashes down into a pool below, creating a sensational atmosphere. From spending leisurely hours here to  admiring the falls and the greenery, Devkund is a place you cannot afford to miss.

Tamhini Ghat

Make the most of your trip to the Devkund Waterfall by heading to the Tamhini Ghat. It is a beautiful mountain pass located between Mulshi and Tamhini, offering stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Known for its scenic beauty, it is a popular stop for travelers heading to the Devkund Falls.

The drive through Tamhini Ghat is an experience in itself, with beautiful winding roads. The ghat offers panoramic views of the Sahyadri Range and is a peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature’s grand beauty.

Alibag Beach

For many of us, the best part of any holiday is simply lounging by the beach, feeling the soft sand between our toes and listening to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. If you too are looking for that perfect beach getaway near Mumbai, then Alibag Beach is the place to be.

Located around 95 kilometers from Mumbai, Alibag or Alibaug Beach is known for its clean, golden sands and calm atmosphere. It’s an ideal spot for a peaceful day out with family and friends. You can take a leisurely walk along the shore, make sand castles and play on the beach. Or you can simply watch the glorious sunset.

In addition to this, you can also take a boat ride to the nearby islands if you are feeling a little adventurous.

Varadvinayak Temple, Mahad

The Varadvinayak Temple in Mahad is a must-visit for those who enjoy exploring spiritual sites. Also situated in the Raigad district, the temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha and is one of the eight Ashtavinayak temples, which are considered highly sacred.

Known as the Mahad Ganpati Temple by some, this temple is nestled amidst lush greenery and its serene environment makes it a great spot for some spiritual reflection. So, if you are looking for some divine solace or quiet during your visit to the region, this temple is the perfect stop.

Prabalgad Fort, located near Panvel, is a popular trekking destination for both history enthusiasts and adventure seekers. The fort offers panoramic views of the surrounding hills, including Matheran, a popular hill station, and of the Western Ghats.

It is important to keep in mind that the trek to Prabalgad is challenging with steep ascents and a rocky terrain. The view from the fort is stunning, making it a perfect spot for photography.
